The basics

Cost, time, payment and what you get.

How much does a website cost in Uganda?

A simple business website with us starts at UGX 350,000. A bigger site with more pages, a booking form and proper Google setup is UGX 750,000. An online shop where people pay you starts at UGX 1,500,000. Domain and hosting are separate and cost roughly UGX 150,000 to 300,000 for the first year, paid to the hosting company, not to us.

How long does it take to build?

A starter site takes about 5 to 7 working days once you have sent your text, photos and logo. A business site takes 2 to 3 weeks. An online shop takes 3 to 4 weeks. The thing that delays most projects is not our work, it is waiting for content from the client, so we give you a simple list of what to send on day one.

Do I have to pay everything upfront?

No. You pay half to start and half when the site is finished and you are happy with it, before we put it live. We accept MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money and bank transfer. You get a receipt for every payment.

Do you handle the domain and hosting?

Yes, we set both up for you and the account is registered in your name with your email, not ours. You own it. If you ever want to move to another developer, you take everything with you and there is nothing to fight about.

Will my site appear on Google?

Every site we build is set up so Google can read it properly: fast pages, correct titles, clean links, an XML sitemap and a Google Business Profile connected to your location. That gets you found for your own name and for local searches. Competitive terms like "hotel in Kampala" take a few months of ongoing work, and we will tell you honestly which of the two you are dealing with.

Can I update the site myself later?

Yes. We build on WordPress and give you a login, so you can change prices, add photos or edit text without calling anyone. We spend 30 minutes on a call or in person showing you exactly how, and we record it so you can watch again.

What if I already have a website that is not working?

Send us the link on WhatsApp. We will tell you straight whether it is worth fixing or cheaper to rebuild. Sometimes it is a hosting problem that costs almost nothing to solve, and we will say so rather than sell you a new site you do not need.

Do you work with businesses outside Kampala?

Yes. We work with clients in Entebbe, Jinja, Mbarara, Gulu and Mbale, and with businesses in Nairobi, Kigali, Dar es Salaam and Juba. Everything can be done over WhatsApp, calls and email. If you are in Kampala and prefer to meet in person, we can do that too.

What do you need from me to start?

Your business name, what you sell, your phone number and email, your logo if you have one, and photos of your work, products or premises. If you do not have good photos we will tell you what to shoot with your phone. If you do not have a logo we can arrange one.

What happens after the site goes live?

You get 30 days of free fixes for anything that is not working right. After that you can take a care plan at UGX 30,000 a month for updates, backups, security and small text changes, or handle it yourself and call us when you need something.

Money

Why prices vary, what is hidden, and what to do on a small budget.

Why do prices differ so much between developers here?

Because "a website" can mean five different things. A one-page template with stock photos is not the same as a site with real content, forms that reach your inbox, speed work and Google setup. When you compare quotes, compare what is inside them: pages, content writing, hosting, who owns the domain and what happens after launch.

Is there anything hidden?

No. The quote lists everything. The only costs outside our fee are your domain and hosting, which you pay to the hosting company once a year, and payment gateway fees if you are selling online. We tell you those numbers before you commit.

Can I pay in instalments?

Half to start, half on completion is standard. For the online shop package we can split into three payments. We ask for the balance before the site goes live, not after.

What is the cheapest way to get online?

The Starter package plus a verified Google Business Profile. That combination gets a small business found and reachable for about UGX 500,000 to 650,000 including the first year of hosting. Start there, add pages when the business grows.

Building the website

Pages, content, design and revisions.

How many pages do I actually need?

Most small businesses need five: Home, About, Services, Prices or Packages, and Contact. If you offer three separate services, a page for each one gives Google three more chances to find you. We will tell you what your business needs instead of selling you pages that sit empty.

Do you write the text for me?

We write the structure and the sales copy for every page based on a short conversation with you. You check it, correct anything about your business we got wrong, and we finalise it. You do not have to sit down and write a website.

Will it work well on a phone?

Phones are where nearly all your visitors will come from, so we build the phone layout first and check it on a real device on mobile data, not just on a fast office connection.

Can you copy a design I like?

Send us the link. We will take the layout ideas that work and build your version with your colours, your photos and your content. We do not clone another Ugandan business site line for line, that helps nobody.

What if I do not like the design?

You see the home page design before we build the rest. Two rounds of changes are included at that stage, which is where changes are cheap. After the whole site is built, big design changes cost extra, so this is the moment to speak up.

Selling online

Mobile Money, WhatsApp orders, delivery and stock.

Can customers pay with Mobile Money?

Yes. We connect MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money through a Ugandan payment gateway such as Flutterwave or Pesapal, so people pay from the phone they already have. Card payment can run through the same gateway. You will need to register with the gateway as a business and they will ask for your documents.

Can I just take orders on WhatsApp instead?

Yes, and for many small shops that is the smarter start. The customer picks items, hits a button, and the whole order arrives in your WhatsApp ready to confirm. No gateway fees, no registration, and you can add real online payment later once orders are steady.

How do I handle delivery around Kampala?

We set delivery zones with your own prices, for example free within the city centre, a flat fee for Ntinda or Kira, and pay-on-delivery for outside town. Boda and courier services can be quoted per zone. Customers see the cost before they order, so nobody argues at the gate.

How many products can I list?

There is no hard limit. The package covers loading your first 30 products with photos, prices and descriptions. After that you add more yourself, or we load them for you at UGX 3,000 per product if you would rather not.

What about stock that runs out?

The shop tracks stock. When a product runs out it shows as out of stock instead of taking money for something you cannot deliver, and you get an email when an item is running low.

Google and being found

Ranking, Business Profile, reviews and what is realistic.

How long until I rank on Google?

For your own business name and for the Google Map results, usually two to six weeks after the Business Profile is verified. For competitive searches like "web design Kampala" or "hotel in Entebbe", expect three to six months of steady work. Anyone promising page one in two weeks for a competitive term is guessing.

What is a Google Business Profile and do I need one?

It is the free business listing that shows up in Google Maps and in the box at the top of local searches, with your phone number, hours, photos and reviews. For a business with customers in Kampala it is the single highest-value thing you can set up, and it is free. We set it up and verify it properly.

Can you guarantee position one?

No, and neither can anyone else. Google does not sell positions and does not take instructions from developers. What we can do is make sure nothing on your site is blocking you, target the searches your customers actually type, and keep improving based on what Search Console shows.

Do reviews really matter?

Yes, more than most Ugandan businesses realise. In local searches the businesses with more recent reviews and replies usually sit above the ones without. We give you a simple system for asking every happy customer, including a short link you can paste into WhatsApp.

Is SEO a one-time job?

The setup is one-time. Staying ahead is not, because your competitors keep adding pages and collecting reviews. Some clients take a monthly plan, others do the setup with us and then handle the reviews and photos themselves. Both are fine, we will show you what the ongoing work actually is.

Still not answered?

Send the question on WhatsApp to 0743768155. You will get a real answer from a person, not a brochure. If the answer is "you do not need us for that", we will say that too.
