Online shops that take Mobile Money
Sell your products online and get paid by MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, card, or straight into your WhatsApp. Stock, delivery zones and receipts handled. From UGX 1,500,000.
Selling online here is not the same as selling online abroad
Templates copied from foreign shops assume everyone has a credit card and trusts a checkout page. Ugandan customers mostly do not. They want to pay with the money already on their phone, or talk to a human before parting with cash, or pay on delivery.
So we build shops that offer all three: Mobile Money, card, and a WhatsApp order button. Whichever way the customer is comfortable, the sale still lands with you.
Start where the money is
If you are just starting, we often recommend beginning with the WhatsApp checkout only. No gateway registration, no transaction fees, and orders arrive formatted in your chat ready to confirm. Once orders are steady we switch on Mobile Money in an afternoon.
Three ways your customer can pay
- MTN and Airtel Mobile Money through Flutterwave or Pesapal. They approve on their phone, you get the money and an email.
- Visa and Mastercard through the same gateway - useful for customers abroad sending things home.
- WhatsApp order - the cart turns into a formatted message in your chat. Zero fees, works for pay-on-delivery.
Gateway registration needs your business details and takes a few days on their side. We fill in the technical part and tell you exactly which documents they will ask for.
What is in the shop we build you
Product pages that sell
Photos, price, description, options like size or colour, and a big add-to-cart button. Related products underneath so people buy two things instead of one.
Checkout that works on a phone
Short form, big buttons, no forced account creation. Every extra field you make someone fill costs you sales.
Delivery zones and fees
Free within town, a flat fee for Ntinda or Kira, a different rate for upcountry, pay-on-delivery where you allow it. The customer sees the cost before ordering.
Stock that tracks itself
Sold out items say sold out instead of taking money you cannot honour. You get an email when something is running low.
Automatic receipts
The customer gets an order confirmation, you get an order alert with everything you need to pack it. No screenshots, no confusion.
Search and categories
People find what they want in two taps instead of scrolling forty products. Good for you, good for Google.
Does your business actually need a shop?
An online shop earns its cost when you sell things people are happy to buy without touching first, and when you can deliver reliably. If neither is true yet, a normal website with a good price list and a WhatsApp button will make you more money for a third of the price. We would rather tell you that now.
A shop makes sense if
- You have 15+ products with stable prices
- You can deliver or arrange pickup consistently
- You are already answering price questions all day
- Customers are outside your immediate area
Wait if
- Your prices change with every batch
- Every sale needs negotiation first
- You have no photos of the products
- You cannot yet handle 10 deliveries in a day
What it costs to run, not just to build
The numbers nobody tells you until the invoice arrives.
| Shop build, up to 30 products loaded | From UGX 1,500,000 |

| Domain (.com), per year | About UGX 60,000 |
| Hosting suitable for a shop, per year | UGX 200,000 - 300,000 |

Gateway fees go to the gateway, not to us. We will show you the current rates from two providers so you can pick.
Questions about selling online
Can customers pay with Mobile Money?
Yes. We connect MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money through a Ugandan payment gateway such as Flutterwave or Pesapal, so people pay from the phone they already have. Card payment can run through the same gateway. You will need to register with the gateway as a business and they will ask for your documents.
Can I just take orders on WhatsApp instead?
Yes, and for many small shops that is the smarter start. The customer picks items, hits a button, and the whole order arrives in your WhatsApp ready to confirm. No gateway fees, no registration, and you can add real online payment later once orders are steady.
How do I handle delivery around Kampala?
We set delivery zones with your own prices, for example free within the city centre, a flat fee for Ntinda or Kira, and pay-on-delivery for outside town. Boda and courier services can be quoted per zone. Customers see the cost before they order, so nobody argues at the gate.
How many products can I list?
There is no hard limit. The package covers loading your first 30 products with photos, prices and descriptions. After that you add more yourself, or we load them for you at UGX 3,000 per product if you would rather not.
What about stock that runs out?
The shop tracks stock. When a product runs out it shows as out of stock instead of taking money for something you cannot deliver, and you get an email when an item is running low.
Tell us what you sell
Send us your product list or just a few photos on WhatsApp. We will tell you whether a shop is worth it for you yet, and what it would cost.
Ask about an online shop
Tell us what you sell and roughly how many products.
We reply within a few hours on working days. Your details stay with us - we do not sell or share them.
