Website design for clinics and hospitals in Uganda
Someone unwell at 10pm is searching for you on a phone. Show them what you treat, whether you are open, where you are and what it costs.

Domain and hosting in your name
Health searches are urgent and local. "Clinic near me open now", "malaria test cost Kampala", "dentist in Ntinda". The person searching is uncomfortable, in a hurry, and will pick from the first two or three results that answer their question. Nobody browses eleven clinic websites.
We build health websites that answer fast: what you treat, when you are open, exactly where you are, roughly what it costs, and one tap to call. Everything else comes second.
A clinic website does most of its work in the moments when somebody is worried and deciding where to go. That means the practical details have to be instantly visible: which hours you are actually open, whether there is anyone there at night or on Sunday, whether an appointment is needed, and what to do in a genuine emergency. Publishing a clear line about when to come to you and when to go straight to a hospital is a service to patients and builds more confidence than any list of equipment.
One line decides a large share of enquiries and most clinic websites leave it out: which insurance and corporate schemes you accept. A patient with cover will call the clinic that names their scheme, and will not call the one that says nothing. List the schemes you are on, say whether you need a pre-authorisation letter or a card at the desk, and state what a cash patient pays for the same visit. If you have corporate contracts for staff medicals, give that its own page. It is quiet business that arrives by email rather than by walk-in, and almost nobody here publishes anything about it.
The mistake we see most often
Most clinic websites in Uganda fail on one thing: opening hours. Either they are not there, or they are wrong, and a patient arrives at a locked gate. Put them on the website and on your Google Business Profile, and update them before every public holiday.
What a clinics and hospital website needs
- Services and departments, written the way patients describe symptoms
- Consultation and common test prices, or a clear range
- Opening hours including weekends, nights and emergencies
- Exact location with directions and a map that actually points at you
- Appointment booking or a WhatsApp line for questions
- Doctor profiles with real qualifications and registration
Included as standard
Every site we build leaves our hands with all of this. None of it is an extra.
Yours to edit
A login, a training session and a recording. Change prices and photos yourself, whenever you like.
Built for phones first
Nearly all your visitors will arrive on a phone, often on mobile data. That is where we design and where we test.
WhatsApp and call on every page
A tap to call and a tap to chat, always visible. Most Ugandan enquiries arrive this way, not through forms.
What it costs
A clinics and hospitals website usually lands in the Business package, from UGX 750,000. Half to start, half at launch.
Domain and hosting are separate and paid to the hosting company - roughly UGX 150,000 to 300,000 for the first year, registered in your name.
Questions from clinics and hospitals
Are we allowed to publish our prices?
Publishing consultation fees and standard test prices is normal and it builds trust. Where a price genuinely depends on the case, publish a range and say what it depends on. Check anything specific against the rules of your professional body - we will build whatever you are comfortable standing behind.
Can patients book appointments online?
Yes, and for most Ugandan clinics we recommend starting with a booking request rather than a live calendar. The patient sends preferred day and time, your reception confirms on WhatsApp. It fits how your front desk already works and avoids double bookings.
Will a website help us appear on Google Maps?
The Maps listing is separate and it is free. We set up and verify your Google Business Profile as part of the job, because for a clinic that listing brings more calls than the website does in the first few months.
What should a clinic put on its website beyond services?
The information an anxious person needs at speed. Your real opening hours including weekends and public holidays, whether walk-ins are accepted or appointments required, and how to book. Which conditions you can treat and, just as importantly, when somebody should go directly to a referral hospital instead - with a number to call. Your doctors with their qualifications and registration. Whether you accept particular insurance schemes, which is one of the most searched questions and rarely answered. Directions and parking. Consultation fees. People choose a clinic under pressure, and the one whose details are clear and current gets chosen.
Patients message us on WhatsApp about their symptoms. Is that safe?
It is normal here and it is workable, as long as you treat the chat as a clinic record rather than a private conversation. Use a dedicated clinic number that staff hand over at the end of a shift, not somebody's personal phone. Do not discuss results or diagnoses in a group chat, and check you are replying to the right thread before sending anything. Keep the phone locked with a PIN and do not leave it lying at reception. Say on the website what the number is for - appointments, directions, hours, general questions - and be clear that anything urgent means coming in or calling. That one sentence prevents the message at 2am that nobody sees until morning.

Dental clinics
Dental patients are price-sensitive and nervous. Publish what a filling costs and show real results, and you remove both objections at once.

For a pharmacy, being findable and being open are the whole business. Get the Maps listing right and the phone starts ringing.
Read moreMedical laboratories
People search for the test, not the lab. A page per test panel is how they find you.
